About the Youth Education Academy

HOPE

We believe in fostering an optimistic outlook of life for our community even in the most trying of times. We nurture the vision of a brighter tomorrow through goal setting, strategizing toward goal achievement and sustaining motivation for long-term success and positive outcomes

EQUITY

We believe that the voices of those who come from underprivileged communities should be heard and affirmed.  We recognize the dignity and worth of each individual while recognizing and standing against the structural forces, systems and injustices that harm our communities.

MENTORS

We believe in the effectiveness of mentorship programs for our youth and its power to increase their sense of community and purpose. Mentorship helps our youth develop the necessary skills that expand their opportunities for a more successful life and career path.

LEADERS

We believe in guiding and facilitating youth to become leaders in order to make a positive difference in their own lives and in their community. We model leadership and inspire the future generations to see the power they have in contributing to the greater good.

COLLABS

We believe that by working together with youth,  volunteers, other organizations and leaders we bring positive transformation to our community. While building caring and supportive environments we can achieve something greater together than we could alone.

"Seeing Hope In Tomorrow"

"Seeing Hope In Tomorrow"

Youth Education Academy will address the needs of youth who find themselves in educational and home environments with limited opportunities to enhance their financial literacy, writing skills, limited access to information.

The nation has undoubtedly shifted its emphasis on public school curriculum to satisfy the needs of employers and institutions of higher learning by focusing on the math and science courses in which we, as a nation lag. However, creative literacy and writing are also fundamental to success.

The difference in achievements and attainment between groups of students are often rooted in differences in the availability of educational resources.

Ed-Watched Online 2004 State Summary Reports

Summary

Youth Education Academy has begun an exciting new phase of growth, which calls for creating a larger, more structured, and more entrepreneurial development organization. This development plan builds on the work that the board has already completed to lay out the strategy, tactics, and timelines necessary to meet Youth Education Academy’s ambitious goals.

Strategic Plan

Youth Education Academy’s board-approved Strategic Plan defines the agency’s ultimate goal: supplying underserved youth with an innovative virtual campus and effective mentorship programs that frame a future of success through self-sustainability, leadership opportunities, and community connection. To meet this goal, the Strategic Plan lays out a three-year program of growth in all areas, including office space, staff, support services, collateral materials, and marketing needs.

Development Audit

Youth Education Academy recently completed a comprehensive Development Audit. This audit provided a clear and definitive overview of Youth Education Academy’s current fundraising capabilities and noted the potential for growth in several areas. The Development Audit delivers a blueprint for our fundraising growth, and the audit s findings thoroughly inform this development plan.
